Water Heals!

Chronic pains of the body that cannot be explained as injury or infection should first and foremost be interpreted as signals of chronic water shortage in the area where pain is registered - a local thirst.

When the range of motion of a muscle or muscles is pushed beyond it's normal limits from injury, trauma or over exertion the area of tissue then becomes thickened, the blood flow in and out of the tissue is compromised, therefore the tissue becomes dehydrated, de-oxgenated and cell nutrition will be impaired. The resultant outcome will be a focal area that has scarred, goes into spasm, losing contractile power with the tissues storing lactic acid.

The rolling and stretching technique of Bowen Therapy allows hydration into the damaged muscle which helps nourish, repair and restore it to back to its correct function and range of movement.

Water drinking tips:
  • drinking a glass of water before any food enters your body, including snacks. It's easier to remember than counting fluid quantities
  • Add a squeeze of lime or lemon to make the water taste better.
  • Instead of taking a couple of sips from your bottle, take an extra few seconds and try and consume half the bottle in one go.
