All diseases thrive in an ACIDIC Environment. Did you know that most degenerative disease attributed to ageing, such as cancer, osteoporosis and heart disease, and other diseases such as allergy, kidney stones andgallstones have all been scientifically linked to mineral deficiencies that result in your body fluids becoming more acidic? The foods we eat are digested and they break down into either an acid or an alkaline end-product in our tissues. This end-product is called the ash and is what remains in the body after the food has been broken down. Foods that produce an alkaline ash are called alkaline forming food whereas those producing acid ash are called acid-forming foods. The body needs both types of foods. However alkaline forming food should predominate over acid forming ones. To MAINTAIN health, the diet should consist of 60% alkaline forming foods and 40% acid forming foods. To RESTORE health, the diet should consist of 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acid forming foods. Generally, alkaline forming foods include: most fruits, green vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, spices, herbs and seasonings and seeds and nuts. Generally, acid forming foods include: meat, fish, poultry, sugars, eggs, dairy, most grains, white flour and carbonated beverages are acid forming. Drugs are acid forming. Artificial chemical sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal, or Aspartame, are extremely acid-forming. If you are suffering from some of the following symptoms, and other illnesses have been ruled out, you may want to look at an alkaline based diet. - lack of energy - excessive mucous production - nasal congestion - frequent colds and flu - anxiety, nervousness, irritability - ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, benign breast cysts - headache I have attached a quick reference chart.
