BOWEN TREATMENT

The ideal time for a Bowen Therapy session is immediately after an injury. That way, your body can overcome the trauma before it begins to compensate for it (which often creates more problems in the long run than the initial trauma itself).  If you can’t get to a Bowen Therapist immediately, the sooner you can, the better. Within three days is ideal for the quickest and most complete recovery. Many people don’t find out about Bowen Therapy weeks, months, or even years after trying other approaches or “learning to live with it.

Why does Bowen Therapy not combine or integrate 
with any other modality?

Tom Bowen demonstrated that Bowen Therapy is less effective, or will cease to function at all, if any other modality (e.g. physio, massage, acupuncture etc) was combined with his technique. This has been shown to be true when my own clients have chosen to ignore this and have, for example, had a massage after having received a Bowen Therapy Treatment. The results of that massage has stopped the Bowen Therapy. 

DO NOT receive other bodywork for at least 5-7 days after a session, to allow the body the full arc of time to integrate and respond.
